Vice President of Sales

The ideal candidate will lead a dynamic team of citywide sales professionals, driving measurable Year-over-Year (YoY) growth in booked meetings and revenue. A primary focus will be capitalizing on the landmark $700M Fort Worth Convention Center expansion and renovation to secure high-impact business for 2030 and beyond. At the same time this position will deploy strategies to aggressively grow single-property hotel meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engaged in daily operation of the Convention Sales Directors to maximize productivity and results.
- Ensure the team moves at the speed of business, with prompt response and follow up for our clients and hospitality community.
- Oversee and effectively manage support systems for Sales, including lead distribution, measurement systems, reporting, CRM documentation and more.
- Support convention marketing initiatives by providing feedback on campaign success metrics and customer feedback.
- Along with the AVP of Sales, lead regularly scheduled Sales Department meetings as well as individual meetings to coach and monitor sales progress.
- Partner with Fort Worth Convention Center team on citywide sales strategy, including customer proposals, business evaluation, booking guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure seamless communication between Convention Sales and Services teams; reviewing turnover process and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze financial commitments for convention groups including approval of customer incentives, budget planning and overall strategy.
- Manage citywide lead review process with key stakeholders to evaluate opportunities
- Implement goal setting and incentive programs for the citywide sales convention sales team.
- Oversee and monitor the Convention Sales and Tourism PID Sales Budgets.
- Maximize effective use of Tourism PID resources for the benefit of the hotel community.
- Conduct quarterly Sales Committee meetings to inform stakeholders on sales progress and initiatives.
- Create other opportunities that grow partnerships, trust and collaboration with sales leaders from hotels, entertainment venues and business community.
- Support Visit Fort Worth partnership with industry organizations agreements for sales activities and marketing deliverables.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of Fort Worth and its convention competition.
- Support the vision and mission of Visit Fort Worth.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Based in DFW or willing to relocate
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 + years of sales leadership for a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) partnering with convention centers and large hotels or sales leadership experience at a large convention facility or hotel in a major market.
- Demonstrated sales success booking top national association and corporate convention clients for cities and hotels
- Proven ability to lead teams and consistently meet or exceed sales targets
- Strong analytical mindset with experience defining, measuring, and reporting on KPIs.
- Experience with a Tourism PID is a plus.
