Fredericksburg Announced as Home to the 2026 Southern Living Idea House

For more than 35 years, Southern Living has partnered with builders, architects, and designers to produce custom houses that salute the Southern lifestyle and highlight the latest innovations in home design. This year, we are delighted to announce our Idea House is under construction in Fredericksburg, Texas.
It’s a fitting spot for our new build—the Lone Star State is home to the highest concentration of our readers in the country and offers a deep well of design inspiration. We’re also no strangers to the area as we tackled a renovation just down the road in Austin’s Northwest Hills for our 2018 Idea House.
