Dallas Spartan Trifecta Weekend Returns to Granbury for Sixth Consecutive Year
Thousands of athletes and spectators expected October 17–18, bringing significant economic impact to the Celebration Capital of Texas
GRANBURY, TEXAS — The Spartans are coming back to Granbury!
Visit Granbury and its regional tourism partners are preparing to welcome the Dallas Spartan Trifecta Weekend back to Twin Canyons Ranch, October 17–18, 2026, marking the sixth consecutive year Granbury has hosted one of the community's largest and most economically significant tourism events.
And while it may carry the Dallas name, the Dallas Spartan is hosted right here in Granbury, Texas!
The 2025 event recorded 12,588 adult racer registrations, 921 kids racer registrations, 1,583 spectator registrations and 463 volunteer registrations, demonstrating the tremendous reach of this world-class event.
For Granbury, Spartan represents far more than a weekend of obstacle course racing. It is the community's single largest group event in terms of economic impact, bringing significant business to area hotels, vacation rentals, restaurants, retailers, attractions and other tourism partners. Previous annual estimates have placed the event's economic impact at more than $3 million, underscoring its importance to the regional tourism economy.
“Spartan is Granbury's single largest group event in terms of economic impact, and we are incredibly proud to welcome these athletes and their families back year after year,” said Tammy Dooley, Director of Visit Granbury – City of Granbury Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Events of this magnitude don't happen because of one organization. They happen because cities, businesses and tourism partners come together and recognize the value of bringing visitors into our region. Our partners continue to show Spartan that the Granbury region wants them here.”
The event's value extends well beyond race weekend. Spartan's 2025 pre-race marketing generated more than 15.2 million impressions and engagements, including nearly 298,000 event-page views, introducing the Granbury destination to a national audience of outdoor adventure and endurance sports enthusiasts.
Six Years of Spartan in Granbury
Since 2021, Visit Granbury has worked closely with Spartan and its community partners to establish Granbury as a premier destination for this nationally recognized endurance event. Originally hosted at True Grit Ranch, the event later moved to Twin Canyons Ranch, where the rugged terrain and natural landscape provide an ideal setting for Spartan's signature obstacle course challenges.
The weekend features multiple race distances, including the Sprint 5K, Super 10K, Beast 21K and Ultra 50K, along with Spartan Kids races, welcoming athletes of varying ages and abilities.
“Six years in, Granbury has become one of the most welcoming communities on our global calendar. Visit Granbury and its regional partners treat our athletes like hometown guests, and that shows up in everything from the course at Twin Canyons Ranch to the restaurants and hotels full of Spartan families all weekend.
We're proud to keep coming back.” Spartan Vice President, Business Development - Cherie Bortnick.
A Regional Partnership That Delivers
Visit Granbury leads a strong coalition of community and regional partners whose continued support helps bring Spartan back to the area year after year.
2026 Spartan sponsors and partners include: City of Granbury – Visit Granbury, City of Cresson, Granbury Chamber of Commerce, Visit Cleburne, Explore Glen Rose, Hood County News, Hank FM, Waste Connections, Oakdale Park & Off the Vine RV, Hotel Lucy, Comfort Suites Granbury and Stumpy's Lakeside Grill & Marina, along with additional supporting tourism partners.
These partnerships represent a shared commitment to growing the regional tourism economy and welcoming visitors who might otherwise never have discovered Granbury and its surrounding communities.
Visit Granbury will once again have an onsite visitor activation during race weekend, providing information about local lodging, dining, shopping, attractions and entertainment while encouraging competitors and their families to extend their stay and return for future visits.
“Every Spartan athlete who comes here is also a visitor to our community,” Dooley added. “We want them to cross that finish line, celebrate what they accomplished and then discover everything else Granbury has to offer. We want them to leave already thinking about their next trip back to the Celebration Capital of Texas.”
The 2026 Dallas Spartan Trifecta Weekend takes place October 17–18 at Twin Canyons Ranch in Granbury, Texas.
