Discover Denton Announces Brian Hilterbrandt as Director of Sales

DENTON, Texas — Discover Denton announces the hiring of Brian Hilterbrandt as Director of Sales. With 28 years of experience with Marriott International, Hilterbrandt brings an extensive hospitality background and a commitment to industry relationships to Discover Denton’s efforts to grow meetings, conventions, and group travel.

In his role, Hilterbrandt will oversee sales initiatives that position Denton as a destination for meeting planners, event organizers, and group travel professionals. Working alongside Discover Denton’s sales and destination services team, he will help develop business opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and connect prospective groups with the hotels, venues, and experiences that meet their needs.
His responsibilities will also include collaborating with local hospitality partners to generate hotel room nights and encourage visitor spending throughout the community. These efforts support Discover Denton’s mission to promote the destination and strengthen the local tourism economy.
Hilterbrandt’s tenure with Marriott International provides a foundation in the hospitality industry, complemented by ongoing professional development. He is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), has participated in Destinations International sales training, and has completed various certifications and professional programs through Marriott International. He studied business at Wright State University in Ohio.

Hilterbrandt joins Discover Denton as the organization continues to promote Denton’s meeting facilities, accommodations, and distinctive visitor experiences. From its historic downtown and live music scene to its universities and local businesses, Denton offers opportunities for groups to build memorable experiences around their meetings and events. Hilterbrandt will work with the team and community partners to translate those assets into new business for the destination.

Born in Dayton and raised in Wilmington, Ohio, Hilterbrandt also has a background in competitive swimming and previously coached a high school swim team. He and his wife, Linda, have been married for 36 years.
